THE ROLE OF YOUTUBE AS A MEANS OF IMPROVING THE VOCABULARY SKILLS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

This research is qualitative research. The purpose of this research is to find out how big a role is given by the YouTube application and the reasons why YouTube tends to be an option in improving the English vocabulary skills of IAIN Sorong students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the theory and research findings from various research journals, vocabulary is central to mastering a language. Therefore it is important to learn. This study is a research and development that has proven its effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach so that it can understand the phenomena experienced by the subject. The YouTube application as a learning tool during the Covid-19 pandemic will improve English vocabulary skills. Various studies can function in transferring knowledge in an interesting and easy-to-understand manner. The results of the analysis show an increase in vocabulary through the use of the YouTube application in improving the English skills of IAIN Sorong students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the use of the YouTube application can improve the vocabulary skills of other students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
