PERAN KONSELOR DALAM MEMBENTUK AKTUALISASI DIRI NARAPIDANA PEREMPUAN DI LAPAS KELAS II B KOTA SORONG

This study aims to describe the role of counselors in shaping the self-actualization of female prisoners in Class II B Sorong Prison. This research is a descriptive study of people's words and observable behavior. The subjects in this study were female counselors at the Class II B Sorong Prison. For that, the main target is the counselor. In this study, direct interviews with counselors and documentation and direct observation were carried out to obtain data. The results showed that the role of the counselor in shaping the self-actualization of female prisoners at the Class II B Sorong Prison was vital where the counselor positioned himself as an officer, parent, and friend to achieve an optimal counseling process. The counseling method used is in the form of mental and skill counseling. Furthermore, the indicator of the success of the counseling process is proven by the formation of individuals following Maslow's theory. Prisoners who have finished serving their sentence at the Class IIB Sorong Prison return to society with exemplary self-actualization achievements.
