INTEGRASI NILAI-NILAI BUDAYA DAN DAKWAH DALAM TRADISI ADAT CAKALELE BANDA PULAU AY KABUPATEN MALUKU TENGAH

The Cakalele customary tradition that lives among the people of Banda Pulau Ay is not only a part of local culture, but also a medium for conveying religious messages in a cultural form. This study examines how cultural values passed down through generations merge with Islamic da’wah values within the practice of the Cakalele tradition. Cakalele, which was originally known as a war dance to commemorate the spirit of the ancestors, has now transformed into a medium rich with moral, spiritual, and religious educational messages.This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through field observations, interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community members directly involved in preserving the tradition. The findings show that in every symbol, movement, and ritual of Cakalele, there is an integration of Islamic values such as ukhuwah (brotherhood), amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding wrong), and the spirit of jihad in its spiritual sense.Traditional leaders and religious leaders play a crucial role in maintaining the balance between traditional values and Islamic values, ensuring that this tradition continues to live on and is accepted across generations. Thus, the Cakalele tradition is not only a cultural heritage but also serves as a grounded medium of da’wah that subtly yet profoundly teaches Islamic values through deeply rooted cultural symbols.
