Student development is influenced by several factors, including social factors such as family, school environment and society. Apart from that, peer factors can also influence student development, both positively and negatively. Other factors that influence student development include internal factors, psychological factors, genetic factors, and environmental factors. The development of students in girls and boys can be different depending on these factors. An educator or teacher needs to understand the basic concepts of student development in order to be able to choose learning strategies that are appropriate to the stage of development of students' understanding.
